Knife Skills for Busy Families
Finally, a kitchen knife skills course built for YOU: the busy family who wants to cook more often together but find it hard to make time to learn new things.
while preparing delicious food with your family
This course is designed to allow you to incorporate the lessons and menus into a weekly habit of cooking and eating together as a family. Here's what you'll do:
Every week, set aside about 30 minutes to sit down and watch a series of short videos on a variety of topics (more on that below).
Using the provided menu (including shopping list, equipment list, and duty assignments), prepare a delicious meal together that utilizes the techniques and skills you've just learned - referring back to the videos when necessary.
Repeat the process every week for 10 weeks as you build on the knowledge and skills from previous modules, celebrating your results along the way as you develop better skills and stronger relationships.
Listen to what other folks, just like you, have to say about their Cookin' with Kibby experiences:
Here are just a few things you and your family will learn as you journey through this course together:
The parts of a kitchen knife and various styles of knives
How to hold a kitchen knife and the ingredients on the cutting board for safety and efficiency
Various slicing motions and classical knife cuts
The two types of vegetable peelers and how to use them
Walking safely with a knife and how to store it in your kitchen
How to peel and cut ingredients such as onion, celery, carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, assorted fruits and meats, and more
The importance of consistency in cutting
Strategies for teaching knife safety to your kiddos
And so much more!
Before you invite me into your kitchen, I want you to know who I am and I'm doing this for you.
Chef Kibby
Each weekly module features a series of short videos lasting 3-5 minutes. They cover a variety of topics, such as general information about knives and their usage and specific knife cuts on commonly-used ingredients, as well as videos to guide you on your journey through the course.
While the course was designed to help you create a weekly habit of cooking together as a family, I understand that things come up and plans can change at a moment's notice. Once you receive this course, the content is yours to keep for as long as you want it, and you can feel free to use it as you please.
You can use the materials from the course as a reference for any time in the future when you're in the kitchen and need to remind yourself how to do a particular technique. I also plan to offer other courses and ways to connect with me to continue your journey of kitchen confidence!
